Elder Law: Safeguarding the Rights and Well-Being of Our Aging Population

Elder law is an area of legal practice that places an emphasis on those issues that affect the growing aging population. It deals with legal issues that frequently arise due to advanced age, such as incapacity and planning for medical care. It is an area of law that focuses on assisting the aging population with implementing planning strategies as well as protecting the elderly and their assets from abuse.

The planning needs of our elderly clients range from basic estate planning, including Powers of Attorney and Advanced Health Care Directives, to more advanced strategies, including qualification for public benefits, such as Medi-Cal. In addition to the planning aspect of elder law, litigation may arise where there is physical, emotional and/or financial abuse. Often times the abuse comes from those closest to the elderly person, such as a child or sibling. There are other times when a stranger may befriend an elderly person to take financial advantage of them. Our experienced attorneys are able to assist you in all of these situations.

If you suspect financial, emotional and/or physical abuse whether by an individual or a health care facility and/or provider, we can help you protect your loved one and his or her assets.
