Morgan Hezlep, Attorney
Morgan Hezlep manages the firm’s Litigation Department and has extensive experience in complex litigation issues, particularly in the areas of general civil litigation, business litigation, employment and labor law, administrative law and proceedings, commercial and residential landlord/tenant disputes, family law, criminal defense, appeals and writs, DUI defense, trademark and copyright infringement, breach of contract, conservatorship and guardianship proceedings, trust and will contests, probate litigation, tort, personal injury and wrongful death. Ms. Hezlep’s trial practice is greatly strengthened by her prior experience in “Corporate America” as a senior level management consultant.
Prior to joining PLH, Ms. Hezlep was a Deputy City Attorney responsible for taking more than fifty cases to jury trial. During her tenure, Morgan gained experience working with various local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Her in-court experience as a Deputy City Attorney greatly strengthens her abilities to effectively advocate for her clients, whether they are individuals, families, groups or businesses.
Ms. Hezlep earned her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University and her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Hezlep was a board member and national competitor for the Moot Court Honor Society, interned for the California Attorney General’s Office, and clerked for the Honorable H. Ronald Domnitz. When she graduated with honors, she was awarded pro bono honors for her volunteer work with the Domestic Violence Clinic provided by the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.
Ms. Hezlep is an attorney and counselor at law licensed to practice in all California Courts, U.S. District Court for both the Central and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. She is a member of the State Bar of California and an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association and Lawyers Club of San Diego. She continues to volunteer with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.
In her free time, Morgan is an avid runner and supports a number of charities through running events such as Team Challenge for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Morgan is also a supporter of the San Diego Humane Society and the Helen Woodward Center.
